Marriage & Family Therapy

Hi! I am Christina Rodriguez, a counseling student at the Tarleton State University—Fort Worth Campus. I am working on completing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and hope to graduate in May 2025. Throughout my internship, I will be supervised by Gabriela Rivas Espinoza, MA, LPC.

I have a large, blended family and have been with my partner for over nine years. He is a retired Navy Veteran and active law enforcement officer. I am also a stepmother to four young adults and a young grandmother to a beautiful little girl. I have experienced the ups and downs of dual-parent dynamics and the stresses of being a spouse to someone in law enforcement.

I graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2012. After graduation, I moved back to Fort Worth and began working in law enforcement as a 911 Dispatcher. I have worked in this position for over ten years and have heard the worst of the worst. My job is not to judge others but to provide help and a calming voice during a stressful event.

I would love to work with all individuals open to working with a new counselor. I like to use a Cognitive-Behavioral approach. Through Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, we work together to identify unhealthy ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving and change them to be more positive and fulfilling for you. My goal is to guide your journey by creating trust, openness, and a judgment-free space.

“It isn’t what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about.” - Dale Carnegie.

Hey! My name is Jackeline Sierra, and I am a neurodivergent Counseling Student Intern from Southern New Hampshire University, supervised by Dr. Shawna Munson, LPC-S, LMFT-S. I graduated from The University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Rehabilitation Counseling. I am currently working on a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Professionally, I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating the complexities of being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world, although I love working with everyone! I focus on skills development, self-empowerment, and providing a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages self-discovery. My approach is client-centered and flexible, which means that I always prioritize my clients and their specific needs and experiences. When it comes to treatment plans, I believe that one size does not fit all, which is why I am dedicated to ensuring that everyone who walks through my door feels valued and understood.

I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, my dog Oakley, and my cat Pancake. As an introvert, I love anything and everything that allows me to unwind and recharge. I have a deep appreciation for all things artistic and love engaging in creative activities, whether it’s crafting, painting, or exploring new art forms. In my free time, I also enjoy gardening, which gives me a chance to connect with nature and find tranquility and I love watching movies and tv shows.

I look forward to meeting and working with you on your journey to healing and self-discovery!

Hello, my name is Lusana Darnell and I am a State of Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned my BA in Psychology from the University of Maryland European Division, UK. I then graduated with my MEd in Counseling in 2002 at Tarleton State University.

I spent five years working in an adolescent psychiatric hospital and then moved on to work in the field of education. I have spent 17 years in the educational system first as a teacher for six years and then as a school counselor for eleven years.

I have a deep passion for working with kids, adolescents, and adults. I strive to create a climate that is supportive and free from judgement. I know what it is like to feel “stuck” and “lost.” Sometimes it takes a non-biased, neutral party to help guide us to a healthier version of ourselves. I work with all issues that are causing people to seek help.

In my free time I love spending time with my dogs going for walks or the dog park, watching movies with my family, reading, painting, and crafting.
